Control cabinets often contain many cable entries in a small area. If the gland layout is not planned, wiring becomes difficult to maintain and the sealing result can vary from one entry to another.
Plan cable groups before drilling
Separate power, control, signal and spare entries where possible. This helps installers choose the correct gland size and reduces cable crossing inside the cabinet.
Use matched locknuts and washers
Panel-side sealing depends on the washer and locknut as well as the gland body. For painted or punched sheet metal, a proper washer helps keep the seal even.
Leave space for maintenance
Cable glands should not be installed so close together that cap nuts cannot be tightened. Enough spacing reduces installation damage and makes future cable replacement easier.
RFQ information
Send the cabinet drawing, cable OD list, hole layout, material requirement and quantity. Voltaglands can help match glands, washers, reducers and plugs for the cabinet set.
