Frequently Asked Questions

These answers help prepare a clearer quotation request.

How do I choose a cable gland size? Confirm the enclosure thread or hole size first, then match the cable outside diameter to the sealing range.
Nylon, brass or stainless steel? Nylon is economical for many electrical boxes, brass offers higher mechanical strength, and stainless steel is for corrosion-risk environments.
Can junction boxes be supplied with cable glands? Yes. Send the box size, hole positions and cable gland thread so the assembly can be quoted as a matched set.
What information is needed for sealing washers? Thread size, inner diameter, outer diameter, thickness, material and application surface are useful. A sample photo helps.
Can you provide packing proof? Product, bag, carton label and pallet photos can be provided according to order requirements before shipment.
What should I include in an RFQ? Product type, size, material, cable OD or box dimensions, quantity, application environment and packing label request.
What is the difference between Metric, PG and NPT threads? Metric (EN 60423) is the modern worldwide standard, PG is a legacy European size still common in replacement work, and NPT is the tapered North American conduit thread. See the cable gland selection guide for a full comparison.
Which IP rating should I choose for outdoor use? IP66 suits most outdoor cabinets and washdown areas, IP67 covers temporary immersion in flood-risk locations, and IP68 is for continuous immersion where the water depth is stated in the inquiry.
How do I measure cable OD without a datasheet? Measure the cable jacket with calipers at the gland position; for non-round cables use the largest dimension. Then match the value to the sealing range listed in the selection guide.

Still Not Sure Which Model Fits?

Send photos

Photos of the cable, hole, box or old part help identify the right family quickly.

Share dimensions

Thread, cable OD and box wall thickness are usually enough for a first recommendation.

Confirm environment

Outdoor, UV, heat, vibration and chemical conditions affect material choice.
